Susan Hess Plays as Independent in Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association

Westfield, NJ: Founded in 1899, the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association is the second oldest women’s golf association in the United States. This year, 119 years later, a new Independent Membership classification was approved. This membership allows women who are not members of a WMGA member club to join the Association and compete throughout the season.

Owner and designer of Golftini, Susan Hess, jumped right in on this opportunity, in true Susan fashion, being one of two Independents to play in the most recent tournament at Essex Fells Country Club in Essex Fells, NJ. The tournament started on June 25th, 2018 and ends June 28th, 2018. Susan qualified for the match-play portion of the event. She was eliminated in her first round.

“Practice doesn’t always make perfect, but your outfit can always be fabulous!” Susan stated, commenting on her performance while wearing Golftini’s Scramble Skort and Black Sleeveless Tech Polo from the Spring 2018 Perfect Round Collection.

Despite the loss, Susan was thrilled to play in this event and represent Independent Women Golfers.

The mission of the Women's Metropolitan Golf Association is to foster women's amateur golf and to encourage the participation of junior girls, while promoting integrity, respect for the game, and good fellowship through individual and team competition.

Golftini is a fashion forward, high-performance women’s golf apparel line founded in 2004 by Susan Hess. Golftini has something for everyone, as it is designed to be worn on and off the course. The collections highlight unique, exclusively designed printed bottoms and tops that move forward with each collection to match in a variety of sizes, lengths, and fabrications.
